Traveling to Switzerland

The captivating alpine landscape and the blue lakes with picturesque villages on their shores offer this country a fairytale beauty. Switzerland boasts the perfect conditions for an active holiday in any season: hiking, cycling, mountaineering, paragliding, skiing, sledding and much more.

Travelers come here for the impressive scenery, but are enchanted by the many cultural attractions. Sung throughout history, cities such as Zurich, Geneva and Lausanne offer excellent museums and galleries, historic buildings and famous music festivals.

The country has some unique features, such as the fact that there are three national languages in use. Depending on the region of Switzerland, tourists will hear French, Italian and German. Although there is no Swiss language, a Swiss German dialect is often spoken by those near the German border.

Must see

The tours we create are tailor made. We believe that the regions below should not be missed, but we leave it to you to choose how much time you want to spend in each place and what experiences will have during this unforgettable trip.

Engelberg

Engelberg-Titlis is the most important winter and summer holiday destination in the center of Switzerland, offering a wide variety of activities. The many interesting options will make your stay an unforgettable mountain experience.

Engelberg is located 25 km south of Lake Lucerne, in a wide mountain valley, at an altitude of about 1000 meters. Mount Titlis - 3239m high and Hahnen Mountain - 2,600 m high provide snow until spring.

The city of Engelberg is attractive due to its distinct and rustic character. The Benedictine monastery was founded in 1120 and has a great impact on village life even today. The monks still live, work and teach there. The houses from the Belle Epoque period, in combination with the pleasant Swiss flair and special architecture give the village its own charm.

The resort benefits from the "Families welcome" logo, thus offering special programs for children.

Engelberg is not just a winter resort, it is a winter paradise. The largest and - as locals like to boast - probably the most beautiful ski area in central Switzerland offers snow from October to May; you can practice mountain skiing, cross-country skiing, freeride, snowboarding and sleighing.

In the summer, activities are extremely varied, both for adults and for families with children: cycling, climbing, golf, alpine playgrounds, 500 km of hiking trails with different difficulty degrees, from trails that are suitable for stroller rides to the really challenging ones. The infrastructure is perfect for making everyone feel comfortable.

Zürich

The city of Zurich is located on the shores of both a river and a lake, with the snow-covered Swiss Alps in the background. Despite its reputation of an old international banking center and a capital for chocolate artisans, Zurich is also a very modern city.

Zurich is among the favorite tourist holiday destinations thanks to its gorgeous old center with historical monuments and medieval architecture and the lake, whose beauty awaits to be discovered during a cruise, offering breathtaking views of the Glarus Alps. The old center is a pleasure to explore: cobblestone streets, amazing museums, restaurants serving delicious dishes, the Swiss cuisine being a combination of the German and the Italian ones.

The city of Zurich has the advantage that it is close to many tourist attractions in Switzerland and can be a very convenient starting point in exploring the beauty of this country.

Lacul Lucerna

Lucerne is an excellent region for those who visit Switzerland for the first time. It is a beautiful old town with museums, monuments and plenty of shops and restaurants. Zurich is less than an hour away, and the alpine landscape it is surrounded by invites you to take a walk. You can explore the many mountain peaks by train or mountain cable cars and enjoy the beautiful scenery there. And, of course, there are boat trips on Lake Lucerne, with wonderful views around.

North of the lake, villages such as Weggis, Vitznau and Gersau are located at the wooded base of Rigi. Rigi is a mountain chain with many hiking trails. To the south of the lake begin the higher mountains. Stanserhorn is one of them, and further south you find the snow of the Titlis glacier. Pilatus rises over the lake in the western part, close to the town of Lucerne. Several cycling and skating trails surround the lake, while numerous trails lead hiking enthusiasts to a day full of adventures in the Alps.

The city of Lucerne is home to the Swiss Transport Museum and the Garden of Glaciers, a local history museum with exhibits linked to glaciers.

Alpii Glarus

Glarus, the smallest capital of a Swiss canton, is nestled between the mountains at the foot of Glärnisch ridge. Hikers, climbers and cyclists will discover a varied holiday region with a lot of interesting excursions.

Glarus earned its world reputation in the nineteenth century for its printed fabrics.

There are regions for families, such as Elm and Braunwald, where you can practice winter sports: skiing, sleighing and snow rides. If you like silence, you will enjoy the many winter trails of Glarus.

There are many sights here that testify to its extraordinarily rich geological and mining history: the Engi quarry, fossilized sea creatures on Kerenzerberg and traces of dinosaurs on Tödi.

Interlaken

Interlaken is one of the oldest, best known and most popular summer holiday resorts in Switzerland. The first visitors arrived in the seventeenth century and, as transport facilities improved with the advent of the railway, lake boat services and, more recently, the highway, Interlaken became the main tourist center of the Bernese Oberland.

Interlaken is an ideal starting point to admire the magnificent landscapes in the center of Switzerland, while enjoying the comfort of a chic resort on the shore of the lake. Over 45 mountain railways, cable cars, chairlifts and ski lifts lead to 200 kilometers of slopes and to a dense network of hiking trails. You will find a lot of things to do in and around Interlaken.

Along with the almost endless variety of walks and outdoor excursions, there are many other sports available for active travelers: sailing and windsurfing on lakes, parasailing, horseback riding, tennis and golf.
