Tanzania

Tanzania travel

Tanzania is a land of many contrasts, a true blend of tribal culture and authentic colonial style. With its lakes populated by huge colonies of pink flamingos, wildebeest herds and endless plains in the shadow of the Kilimanjaro, Tanzania gives life to African landscapes, as you have always dreamed of.

Follow us in the heart of the most beautiful nature reserves for a magical safari, exploring places often inaccessible to visitors. Meet the proud Maasai or Datooga tribes, enjoy a freshly brewed coffee in the middle of a coffee plantation in Arusha, discover the mystery of tanzanite, the rarest gemstone in the world, watch the elephant herds in Tarangire National Park or make a foray into the bottom of the Ngoro Ngoro volcanic crater! You will watch the spectacle of nature in Serengeti, where two million wildebeest antelopes, along with zebras and other herbivorous mammals migrate every year in search of green meadows, fighting to survive predators, while being part of this phenomenon called Great Migration.

Authentic Tanzania is revealed through this original circuit, which opens the gates towards a unique safari experience which will delight connaisseurs and freedom-loving souls.

Explore East Africa and choose a tailor made itinerary in Tanzania, according to your tastes and needs.

Must see

The tours we create are tailor made. We believe that the regions below should not be missed, but we leave it to you to choose how much time you want to spend in each place and what experiences will have during this unforgettable trip.

Arusha

Lesser known than its illustrious Kilimanjaro cousin, Arusha National Park, with its landscapes of mountains, forests and lakes, is at least as impressive. The 137 square kilometers are home to a variety of wildlife, including the famous colobus monkey, an endemic species that you can admire in its natural habitat at the foot of Mount Meru.

The call of the savannah resounds as you admire the pink flamingo colonies on the lakes, the hundreds of bird species on the branches of the trees and the zebras or giraffes that come here to drink. Arusha marks the wonderful start of the future African adventure.

You can live many experiences in Arusha, this gateway to the African savannah, located at 1380m altitude: spending the night on a coffee plantation or visiting a plantation, followed by a coffee tasting, discovering the mysteries of the tanzanite, the emblematic gemstone exploited only in Tanzania, visiting Shanta - an African jewelry workshop and a humanitarian project for people with disabilities - the initiative of the Elewana hotel chain, visiting a Maasai market and a first foray into local cuisine at a Swahili restaurant or, why not , for the bravest, a "Chicken on the Bonnet", the star of street food in Arusha.

Tarangire

Tarangire, often overshadowed by the Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti, is the surprise of safari tours in northern Tanzania. Being located outside the main visiting route, the park has high concentrations of animals during peak months (July-October) and is famous for the migration of elephants, the multitude of bird species and the authentic atmosphere.

Most tourists either miss Tarangire altogether or venture into the park only for a few hours, leaving large areas virtually untouched. The possibility of escaping the crowds of tourists and having the park almost exclusively make Tarangire a gem among the natural parks of Tanzania.

Ngorongoro

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro crater was formed approximately 3 million years ago, due to the explosion and collapse of a huge volcano cone (it is said that it was even taller than Kilimanjaro). Thus was born the best preserved  volcano caldera in the world, which is home to one of the most spectacular safari parks in Africa. With a diameter of sixteen kilometers, the Ngorongoro crater is considered the eighth wonder of the natural world, a unique habitat for the 25,000 animals living here, all year long, in a practically sealed ecosystem.

The epic natural beauty of the Ngorongoro crater is rivaled only by the diversity of flora and fauna sheltered between its steep, 600m tall slopes. The luscious pastures of the crater are a real sanctuary for the many animal species living here: lions, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, elephants, cheetahs, wildebeest and the Tanzanian black rhino.

Serengeti

Is Serengeti the last wild paradise on Earth? Rightly, when we talk about Serengeti we talk about the most famous park in Africa, which is home to the highest number of predators on the planet. Imagine 25,000 square kilometers of endless plains dotted with solitary acacia trees, zebra and antelope herds cutting off predators in search of food and water, giraffes and elephants.

The main attraction is, of course, the Great Migration, one of the wonders of the natural world. Every year, more than two millions herbivores, especially wildebeest, gazelles and zebras, oscillate between the two ecosystems of Serengeti and Masai Mara, following the rains and the green pastures, in a cycle of life only interrupted by predators' interference.

As Serengeti is impressive in terms of size, it is very important to choose an accommodation close to the migrating herds, depending on the time of the year when you are traveling. From December to March, you can witness a unique spectacle - this is the time when cubs are born in the south of the park; for the next three months, the little animals will be prepared by their parents for the difficulties they will have to face once the migration to the north starts in April.

We can say without a doubt that Serengeti is one of the rare places on the planet which, dispite its huge fame, manages to exceed all expectations and delight the imagination and souls of its visitors.
